The company
Oleodinamica Balleggi s.a.s. was founded in 1976 by Luciano Balleggi. In the early years, the company was specialised in the realization of hydraulic manifolds and hydraulic components. During the past years, the company has grown towards a highly technological development and engineering organization specialised in the field of automated hydraulic systems.
In our product portfolio, four product lines can be distinguished: multiple disc brakes, hydraulic cylinders, post tensioning jacks, and hydraulic systems for a large variety of applications. For all four product lines, a series of standard products is available. Customer specific products are developed, engineered, and realised on request. During the lifetime of our products, we offer specialised and dedicated product maintenance and technical assistance.

Multi-disc negative brakes and clutches.
Oleodinamica Balleggi designs and manufactures hydraulic multi-disc negative brakes as well as clutches.
Applications include portable lift-platforms, agricultural vehicles, road vehicles, winches set up for wheel clamping, and other low speed vehicles and equipment.
Hydraulic brakes
Balleggi Standard Hydraulic multi-disc negative brakes are used to statically release the motors to which they are applied.
The holding force is applied by means of an internal spring set and released by using hydraulic pressure releases the brake, allowing the motor shaft to rotate freely.

- Standard flange versions available for SAE A, SAE B mounting flange motor types
- Solutions available both for standard and bearingless/wheel mounted orbital motors

Open series
The Balleggi product family types FOB...A and FOB...C are hydraulic multi-disc negative brakes with open interface, containing a friction disc with an outer diameter variable depending on series going from 3 up to 9 inches and bigger.
This type of multiple disc brake is provided with the following features:
- Sintered bronze friction plates
- Minimal brake torque 100 N-m (885 lb-in)
- Maximum brake torque 7500 N-m (66375 lb-in) and higher
- Operating pressure 250 bar (3630 psi)
- Release pressure 8 bar (116 psi), ideal for closed loop hydrostatic systems

Clutches
Balleggi Hydraulic Clutches are manufactured as well as stand alone products or as a set in combination with a multi-disc negative brake.
Upon request, Balleggi Hydraulic Clutches are available with torque ranges up to 800 Nm and minimum release pressures up to 25 bar and operating pressure up to 350 bar.
Air Brakes
Balleggi Air multi-disc negative Brakes apply the holding force by means of an internal spring, and release the holding force by using air pressure.
This type of multiple disc brake is provided with the following features:
- Sintered bronze friction plates
- Available torque ranges from 12 to 650 N-m
- Minimum Release pressures 2 bar
- Direct mounting onto flange motors
- Easy mounting, saves costs of installation
- IEC flange available on standard versions
- PAM flange available upon request.
Applications include engineering and testing equipment, general industry machines.
